Thankful

I am thankful for.....

~My children. I truely believe that this is what I'm supposed to do in life.. raise my children. It's my calling.. my destiny. I was made for this. They bring me so much joy.. Words really cannot describe how thankful I am for them.

~My husband. I'm so greatful for him and who he is. I'm greatful for his job and for letting me stay at home with my children. Thank you.

~My family. I love you all.

~My home. It's not perfect. I may not even like it. But it keeps me warm/cool and dry..It keeps me safe.

~My health.

~My backache, because it means that I can carry my baby all day long. It means that I can move around. It means that I can "feel".

~My messy house, because it means we are able to afford the things we want/need. Because my toddler tornado (or HERricane as Mamaw Dell calls her) is smart enough to play toys and strategically place items wherever she feels like.

~My education, because it means that if I need to or want to, I can get a good paying job.

And so much more. All too often we forget that the things we have in life aren't guaranteed. Everything these days is a luxury. I'm thankful that I'm wise enough to know this.

Milestones!

I cannot believe how fast children grow and learn. I really am amazed.

Slade overheard Brandon and I talking on Friday, about how he has NO interest in rolling over. And how Kendlee hit all of her milestones either on time or early. Slade DID NOT like our conversation.. so he rolled over! Stinker! I haven't gotten him to do it since but he has been very close.. some little girl always comes over though and distracts him. :)

Kendlee got her FIRST HAIRCUT on Saturday! Mommy just about had a meltdown but Kendlee did great! After the cut she kept looking in the mirror and playing with her hair. "My pretty cut-hair!" (Yes, she says Hair cut backwards! I love it!)

Slade spent Saturday with Mamaw Great Mamaw (this is Kendlee's version of Great Grandma Lorna) and Kendlee, Mamaw Dell and I went garage saleing, to the zoo, shopping, ect. It was a VERY fun day!! That evening Mamaw Cali and Papa Wayne stopped by and stole both of my children for the entire evening and most of Sunday!! How fun for the kids to spend time together AND away from Mommy!

Memorial Day was uneventful for us. We packed up and headed back home. It's always nice to be out and about but nice to return as well. We've spent today playing toys and cleaning house. Its almost time for bed, and as I see my little girl get her own milk out of the fridge and then proceed to ask me for something out of the "high cupboards in the sky" lol.. I again am amazed at how incredibly fast they grow. I wonder how long it will take for them to outsmart me.. at this rate, not long!

That's my boy!!

Slade is 2 months old! These are his 2 month pictures, that I took at home. Such a big boy!

If you want to see more, email me! I only took about 150 of him alone! Ha!
At his dr appointment on Friday he was 11 lbs 2 oz and 22 1/2 inches long! He had an upper gastric exray that showed SEVERE Gastrosophogeal (and yes I think I spelled that wrong) reflux. He began a second medication Friday evening, which made him EXTREMELY fussy! He is as fussy as he was a month ago. We took him off the medication now and hope that he will return to his "normal" fussiness! Poor boy!!!

Mother's Day and More!

Slade, purposely melting Mommy's heart. Darn, he sure is good at it!

My "little Mommy" - you can tell what she sees most of the time around here..

I had a lovely visit with my Mother on Mother's day. We met halfway between our houses, at Totten Trail. Much to our surprise they had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch going on!! The food was excellent, the kids were..well... kids! Kendlee, antsy as ever, wanted to play the games upstairs. Slade of course demanded Momma's attention (why should mother's day be any different?) All in all it was a great lunch!

Mothers Day- I didn't realize this is what I really look like right now, eek! At least the kids are beautiful!
My Rainbow Cake- you should have seen the inside! Yum!
Kendlee with the ducky

We took the kids to the playground down by the lake. Kendlee adored the ride-on-ducky. Mommy tried to master the monkey bars (man am I out of shape!!) I even went down the slide, trying ever so desperately to get Kendlee to go down. No luck. Slade was "just hanging out" as Kendlee would say. Then the day grew cold and we ventured our way home.

Kendlee on the slide

Devyn and Kendlee swinging
Monday brought sunshine and warm weather to our area for the majority of the day. We met up with Amanda, Devyn and Reegan to go for a nice, but tiring, walk. (Though I think Amanda disagrees!) This was our first chance to try out our new stroller.. one small glitch.. It does not fit in my trunk!! After trying it out on the walk, I decided that I didn't like it anyhow and will be returning it to the store. I have my eye on a Phil & Ted's stroller.. just need to check the dimensions of my trunk before I click "purchase". ;)

Devyn and Kendlee
Kendlee and Devyn had a blast at the park! Devyn, ever so daring, showed Kendlee how to climb the bars, go down the slide and play properly on playground equipment. Slade talked and observed the outdoors, while Reegan napped in her stroller.
The girls playing on the playground.
Slade informing me of important news.

Reegan in her stroller- see the pink? ;)

We also enjoyed our first real thunderstorm of the year on Monday night. The winds were awful! Kendlee and Slade slept right through it all. The house was all mine...Bliss!

Rounding out the week Kendlee will go to Tina's daycare for halfday tomorrow. Amanda and I have a gymnastics board meeting tomorrow evening, the girls will play in the gym. I do believe I will be "teaching" the tot class June and July as well as next season. -Thursday Slade is to see the pediatrician in Bismarck for his 2 month appointment. Hoping for some good news and answers to questions. Friday Brandon works overtime. He plans to be fishing a tourney with Gary on Saturday and back to work Sunday for his regular shifts.

Sunny days..

It sure has been beautiful out these past few days. If you can stand the wind, of course. Though sick, Kendlee and I have ventured out into the yard to play and for some much needed sun. No pictures of us outside, seeing as we were too busy playing to take pictures! But I do have some more new pictures of the kids.

Enjoy!

Slade is grinning away at Kendlee. Too cute!

The kids were having a blast the other morning talking and cooing to eachother. Kendlee shared her new carebear with Slade, insisiting that he needed one too! It really is quite amazing how she can make him smile. Boy oh boy do I love that smile!!!
Monday- Kendlee gave Mommy a little heartbreak today! She had been running a fever since Sunday and has an awful cough. I took her to the doctor and her fever was 102.4!!! They checked her for strep throat, negative. She fell asleep in my arms, which NEVER happens. Then they took some blood, her white blood count was low..so all good. (But SAD, poor girl whimpered!!!) Checked her temp again and she was 103.2! All in a matter of 45 minutes! Poor kiddo!! For now we are doing nebulizer treatments for the cough and motrin/tylenol for the fever.

Welcome Back!

Obviously I haven't had time to update. Slade is a high maitenence little boy. ;) He wants mommy's FULL attention.. around the clock.

Every other week since Slade was born we have been venturing up to the grandparents' houses so that Mama can get some needed rest. Slade is (or was, he isn't anymore Im sure) 10 lbs 4 oz at his last dr. appt. Growing like a weed.

Kendlee is amazing, as always. Coming up with new phrases and such everyday. We're currently working on learning the planets and writing letters. So far.. she does better with the planets. haha. But really, who expects their two year old to be able to write? Yeah. Me. Haha.

Brandon is busy with work and house projects. I can tell he is getting that "Spring Itch" to get outside. He and Kendlee have been "golfing" in the yard with Kendlee's new golf clubs.

As for me, well.. I don't have much time for anything other than holding Slade. I do manage, somehow, to get my laundry in the washer and dryer, my floors and bathrooms cleaned, and do the dishes here and there. Rarely do I actually cook. Brandon has started to cook more, which is wonderful. I guess I didn't actually think I'd get another high maitenence baby.. Kendlee was fussy up until she was on the reflex medication. Then she was always one who needed her space. Slade on the other hand, has been on meds for a month now, a different formula (as well as breastmilk), all sorts of new calming techniques.. and yet he is constantly wanting to be held.. or crying. I guess he just knows that he is probably my last baby and I will probably be glad I got to hold him so much.. but once in a while.. Mama needs a shower buddy. ;)
